Weston jobs fair expected to be ‘the biggest yet’

Weston-super-Mare’s Jobs Fair organised by MP John Penrose is expected to be the biggest yet, with 60 local and national employers looking to fill hundreds of local jobs.

The event takes place on the 25th October at the Winter Gardens between 10.30am and 2.00pm, and is free to attend with no pre-event registration required.

Businesses looking to fill vacancies include: North Somerset Community Partnership, The Ministry of Defence, Community Therapeutic Services, Thatcher’s Cider,  Alliance Homes, CMG South West, Brandon Trust, McDonalds, Weston College, Yeo Valley, Abatec Recruitment, The Army, Priory Learning Trust, EDF, Hinkley C, Argos and many more besides!

John Penrose MP said: “The Jobs Fair goes from strength to strength. Just a few days ago we heard from a local person who said, ‘I went last year and found my job now, which I love!’ – it’s great hearing that we’re achieving our goals of matching talented local people with stable jobs.”

Sue Porto, Chief Executive of sponsor Brandon Trust, said: “We’re looking for friendly, kind and compassionate individuals with a ‘can-do’ attitude to join our committed teams of support workers in the Weston area. We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Winter Gardens JobsFair and we’d love to encourage people to come and meet us there to find out more about how they could make a very real difference to the lives of the people we support.”

The team at Alliance Homes said, “As sponsors, we’ll be showcasing the variety of roles a housing association has to offer talent in Weston-super-Mare. Make sure you come and say hello and find out why we’re a great place to work.”

Job hunters will also be able to get career and interview advice from organisations such as Prospects, Skills4Work, and Jobcentre Plus, as well as learn about volunteering opportunities, apprenticeships and courses.
