John Penrose MP has welcomed the decision to give Weston College a share of an £11.7million fund to encourage local people to take part in new training that will help them progress in their current employment or secure a new job.
John said: “All the modern, innovative businesses that are moving here as part of Weston’s economic rebirth need a really strong talent-pool to fuel their growth. That’s not just people looking for their first job, but mid-career adults who need to update and refresh their skills to make the most of new technologies and opportunities too. So I’m delighted the College’s plan to offer flexible, partly-online courses so people who have busy lives and are already in work can still learn new skills which could change their lives has won a share of this new Government cash.”
