Weston’s MP Welcomes Town Centre Investment

Weston’s MP has welcomed a share of £244m Government funding to improve roads and public transport in Weston Town Centre.

North Somerset Council will provide a bus interchange to serve as a central hub for access and real-time information linked to the Railway Station. Investment will also be poured into pedestrian and cyclist travel, with the linking of existing destinations and routes.

These works will deliver improved infrastructure leading to smoother, safer flowing traffic; improved public access and a more attractive environment. A cafe with sitting out space and restoration of key buildings and signage are also part of the Council’s plans.

John said: “This investment is great news for local people, businesses, commuters, and visitors too.

“As Weston’s regeneration continues, more people are coming to Weston’s Town Centre and improving Alexandra Parade, one of our key arrival spaces, will make sure we give a great first impression.
