John Penrose visits Westhaven School

John Penrose has visited Westhaven School to find out more about their fundraising efforts for a new sports hall.

Westhaven School is located in Uphill and caters for 96 pupils with a range of learning difficulties or physical disabilities which mean they cannot use the facilities available in mainstream schools.

Over the past 10 years, Westhaven has expanded to include a horticulture department, new play areas, and computers. However, it still lacks a dedicated sports hall.

Whilst at the school, John visited  Westhaven’s PE lessons and the Gymnastics sessions to see how the school is managing to provide physical education lessons currently. He also met the school’s head boy and girl as well as members of the PTA.

Over the next few days, John is going to speak with North Somerset Council and see how they can help with the funding of Westhaven’s project.
