Penrose welcomes Weston’s low burglary rate

Local MP John Penrose has welcomed new statistics showing Weston’s burglary rate is far lower than the national average. The statistics appeared in MoneySuperMarket’s annual Burglary Claims Tracker, showing Weston’s rate is 8.3% compared to 14.3% nationwide.

Commenting on the figures John Penrose said:- “This is very encouraging news about our local crime rate, and fits with the long-term trend of falling criminality in Weston and the villages for many years. The police deserve a lot of credit for this, and so do local people for following their advice about fitting strong locks for doors and windows, installing outside lights, keeping keys and valuables hidden, installing alarm systems and joining Neighbourhood Watch.”
