Weston’s MP John Penrose has welcomed nearly £9 million of Government funding for switching local buses over to electric vehicles.
The funding, part of the ZEBRA initiative, will mean at least 98 electric buses across the area plus the upgrade of their Weston-based depot.
John said: “Everyone wins as a result of this new Government cash. Weston will be greener and have cleaner air. Passengers will have newer, more comfortable buses. And traffic will be quieter too. It’s great news all round”
