Weston Mercury: Here’s what to expect from this year’s Weston Jobs Fair

WESTON’S MP John Penrose is bringing job seekers and employers together next month in what is thought could be the biggest Jobs Fair in the town for years.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 2 at the Winter Gardens Pavilion from 10am until 2pm.

No pre-event registration is required.

Mr Penrose said: “We believe this year’s event could be the biggest for years, and there’s going to be a good variety of jobs available. So there should be something to suit everyone, whether they’re currently out of work and looking for that all-important first job or considering a mid-career change in direction.”

Here are some of the employers who will be at the event:

  • Smart Systems;
  • North Somerset Environment Company;
  • Visit Somerset;
  • Tricel;
  • North Somerset Council;
  • Weston Hospital;
  • Avon and Somerset Police;
  • Priory School;
  • EDF Energy;
  • Morrisons;
  • Co-Op;
  • UK Border Force;
  • Puxton Park.

There are still a few slots available for recruiting companies. Anyone interested should contact: Teresa.Ridley@Parliament.uk.

Attendees will also be able to get expert career support from organisations like Weston College, Professional Apprenticeships and more.

Mr Penrose also runs an active Weston-super-Mare Jobs Group on Facebook.
