Weston’s MP John Penrose is celebrating today’s announcement that Ministers have approved the town’s multi-million pound Levelling Up Fund bid for Government cash.
In summer last year, John supported North Somerset’s Levelling-Up Fund bid to turn Weston into a year-round destination by upgrading underused and vulnerable local heritage sites into “must visit” destinations; reinventing the town centre and high street; creating more attractive routes within the town; improving the visitor experience; and encouraging footfall and spending.
John said: “This is brilliant for Weston. The cash should boost investment in local jobs and growth, create opportunities for people who never had them before, and make our town look better for local residents and visitors alike.”
