Weston’s MP, John Penrose, has welcomed more than £400k from the Government to level up rural villages around Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset.
The Rural England Prosperity Fund provides capital development grants to rural communities and businesses for projects including farm diversification, boosting rural tourism, and community infrastructure ike electric vehicle charging stations.
John said: “It’s vital that levelling up isn’t limited to towns and cities. Rural communities need modern businesses, exciting attractions, fast internet, electric car charging points and all the other things that create wealth and opportunities, just like their more urban neighbours. It isn’t just desirable for rural communities to be bang up-to-date; it’s essential to make sure everyone has the same opportunities no matter where they live and work.”
