Weston’s MP John Penrose has welcomed figures from the Government showing Weston’s unemployment levels are well below the national average.
John said, “Seaside towns have borne the brunt of covid, with more jobs in hard-hit industries like tourism and hospitality. But these figures show we’re bouncing back faster than most of the rest of the country, and my recent Weston Jobs Fair saw hundreds of local people coming to meet more than 50 local employers, so it’s clear that our jobs market is thriving. The message from local businesses and the Jobs Centre is that there are still lots of jobs waiting for talented people to fill them”
