John joins locals at Blackford Harvest Home

John joined hundreds of local people who flocked to Blackford to attend the village’s harvest home on Saturday evening.

Visitors had an enjoyable time at the event and ate a meal consisting of produce grown in the village.

Baroness Dido Harding of Winscombe gave a speech to open the harvest celebrations.

The annual event was in addition attended by Wells Liberal Democrat politician, Tessa Munt and Conservative MP for Weston, John Penrose.

Event organiser, Steve Bloomer, said: “The evening went extremely well.

“We served meats, salads, home-made puddings, cheese, biscuits and wine during the course of the gathering.

“We would like to say a special thank you to Blackford’s organisation committee and to the community as a whole for their continued support each year.”
