MP visits Weston’s new creative co-working hub

Weston-super-Mare’s new creative co-working hub, the Stable, recently received a visit from MP John Penrose as he discovered more about the new opportunities for the creative industry arising in the town centre.

The visit also welcomed the Leader of North Somerset Council, Cllr Nigel Ashton. Guests were shown the new flexible working spaces where members will be able to access the support they need to launch and develop their businesses, creative studios and meeting rooms.

John Penrose, MP for Weston-super-Mare, said: “Successful creative hubs cater for small, creative firms that want the energy and buzz which comes from working alongside like-minded people in the same space.

“They’re often the first step after starting a business in your garage or spare bedroom, before moving into start-up office space somewhere like Weston’s Hive. The Stable will make Weston even more welcoming for dynamic, fast-growing firms in creative industries, as part of our town’s economic rebirth.”

Cllr Ashton commented: “The Stable will usher in an era of creative collaboration between budding entrepreneurs in and around Weston-super-Mare. I was delighted to be shown the space that will be on offer and I look forward to completion of the project later this summer.”

Located on Wadham Street in the town centre, the creative hub will bring a new cultural dimension to the town centre, nurturing the creative talent already in the town and attracting new residents and businesses to relocate.

This supports the council’s bold ambition for Weston-super-Mare which focuses on increasing the number of people living in good quality housing, boosting the demand for shops and services, as well as expanding the town’s learning and leisure opportunities to create a more prosperous and vibrant town centre.
