John Penrose used his victory speech to thank those who voted for him, and to reiterate his commitment to supporting the community, after recording the Tories’ highest percentage of the Weston vote in more than 30 years.
He said: “Huge thanks to the people of Weston, Worle and the villages for putting your trust in me – I am hugely honoured.
“I now promise to do my absolute best to stick up for everybody here, no matter who they voted for.”
