John Penrose goes head-to-head with local parliamentary candidates at NUT Hustings.

The first General Election hustings took place in Weston-super-Mare on Wednesday last week and members of the public put their questions about education to the candidates…

Conservative candidate John Penrose, Labour’s candidate Tim Taylor, Liberal Democrat Mike Bell and Green candidate Suneil Basu attended the event – which the North Somerset branch of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) hosted. Helen Hims, the UKIP candidate, chose not to attend.

The candidates were quizzed about a number of topics from exams to funding, university fees to housing.
