Crime Down, but ‘still more to do’ says MP

Recent figures show that crime has dropped by over 25% locally, a real accomplishment and testament to the local Police Force.

In response to a number of mostly positive local crime statistics published recently, John has praised the local Police Force and said that he is happy that crime is falling overall, but added that the number of cases not leading to prosecution proves that there is ‘no room for complacency’.

John added that: “Crime has fallen by more than a quarter over the last few years in Weston and the villages, but we will only keep pushing it down if criminals know there’s a good chance they’ll be caught and punished.”

“We’ve cut the number of drug addicts coming to Weston, and increased the number of police officers by more than a quarter, so we should be able to keep things moving in the right direction. But these figures show there’s no room for complacency, we’ve come a long way but there’s more to do.”
