Weston’s MP John Penrose has hailed figures released today showing a substantial planned increase in the number of Police Officers and Support Officers on Weston’s streets. Mr. Penrose said:-
“I’ve been discussing this with Weston’s police chief for some time, so I’m delighted by these plans. The number of Police Officers on the beat in Weston’s streets will go up by over a quarter, and the number of Support Officers will almost double too. Top marks to the local force for the way they’ve reacted to the Government’s reforms; even though money is tight, they’ve managed to make savings elsewhere so they can increase resources on the front line where they’re most needed. Crime is already falling in Weston, and this can only push it down even further.
