John Penrose has a small team of dedicated people to assist him as Member of Parliament for Weston, Worle & the villages. They support him in dealing with residents’ problems, tackling the Government on local and national issues in the House of Commons or simply sitting down with constituents and lending a sympathetic ear over a cup of tea.
John’s staff are paid out of the House of Commons staffing budget. He does not employ any member of his family.
Melissa is John’s caseworker and helps him with problems constituents are having with things like tax credits or the Child Support Agency. She normally attends surgeries with John and looks after his constituency office too. Melissa grew up in Weston and still lives in the constituency today.
Roger deals with John's press, liaises closely with local Councillors to ensure John is working in partnership with them wherever possible, and helps with John’s campaign work too. Roger is keen on rugby, particularly when Wales are winning, and enjoys horseracing and cricket.
Charlotte runs John’s Westminster office and helps him reply to correspondence, looks after his London diary and helps with his campaigns too. In her spare time Charlotte volunteers with youth groups in Sussex where she lives and she is currently finishing writing her first novel.
Marc works as John’s researcher and helps John communicate with constituents on important issues via Social Media (Twitter and Facebook). Marc grew up in Weston and is a keen Martial Artist.
