MP Visits Thriving Social Enterprise

E-mail Print

John Penrose MP recently visited Weston’s fast-growing social enterprise IN2GEAR to hear about the work they are doing to raise money for local people with disabilities, and to promote environmentally-friendly, healthy cycling.

John visited the organisation’s base in Clarence Park where they hire, sell, repair and refurbish bikes with all profits going to Age-2-Age’s charity project In-2-Biking (a cycling club primarily aimed at those with disabilities).

John said: “I met Lin and her team when the project was first launched, and I am hugely impressed with how far they have come in just a few years. Not only are they raising money for local causes, but they’re helping locals to get out cycling very affordably and that’s great for our local environment as well as for our hearts, lungs and waistlines!”

Founders of In2Gear, Martin and Lin Thomas, said: “John’s visit and support is very much appreciated as this is our first year of operation. Our aim is to change lives and create opportunities including volunteering, apprenticeships and employment. We do this by encouraging people of all abilities to enjoy cycling. We are so grateful for the support we get from our volunteers, local residents and organisations who engage in our activities.

For more information you can visit or call into IN2GEAR at The Cricket Pavilion, Clarence Park East from 10:00 until 4:30pm Monday – Saturday.
